James Dee Haney

Lieutenant Colonel U.S. Army retired James Dee Haney died Memorial Day, May 27th, 2019. He was born in Swifton, Arkansas and graduated from Arkansas State College with a degree in journalism and later when on to earn an MBA. He completed 20 years of military service that included travel throughout the world and two one-year tours in Vietnam. In later years he became an avid skier, traveling back to the mountains of Europe many times. In summer, he could be found on the Chesapeake Bay enjoying a great deal of time catching crabs for family and friends. He is survived by his wife Marie-Christine Haney, son, Anthony Haney, daughters, Natalie Haney and Patricia Van Note as well as his grandchildren, Eric Haney, Valerie Haney, Nathan Van Note and Max Van Note. They all reside in Maryland where James retired in 1980. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with military honors. He was 82 years old.
