Melody Ann Loftis

Melody Ann Loftis, 70, of Austin passed from this life on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. She was born Saturday, April 2, 1949 in Los Angeles, California to the late Carlyle and Shirley Baumgarde Boyden. Mrs. Loftis was a member of South Bend United Methodist Church. She spent many years shaping young minds and hearts as a daycare teacher. She enjoyed singing and dancing but found her greatest joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Loftis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all whose life she touched. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lee Loftis in 2013; brother, Brent; daughter-in-law; Tamila Preston; granddaughter, Nicolette Preston and daughter, Melinda Loftis. Survivors include her children, Scott (Nancy) Preston of Austin, Kurt Preston of North Little Rock, Tena (Marc) Easter of Ward; siblings, Bonnie Bichl of Wisconsin, Robin Boyden and Courtney "Corky" (Kim) Boyden both of Illinois. Other survivors include grandchildren, Adam Anderson, Jade (Derek) Walker, Robert (Ashley) Easter, Dakota Preston, Rebecca (Derrick) Swinton, Zakkariah Preston, Tia Preston; great-grandchildren, Kadence Walker, Logan Walker, Eddie Easter, Noah Preston, Hester Easter and one on the way, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Brother Garren Hagemeier officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
