J.C. Huntsman

J.C. Huntsman, 86, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., died Friday, November 1, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1933 in Crosby, Ark., to parents Harry and Mildred Huntsman. J.C. proudly served in the United Sates Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and served many years as a scout leader for the Noel and Gravette Boy Scout Troops. J.C. attended Grace Meadows Fellowship in Maysville, Ark. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ida June (Harlan) Huntsman, brother Billy Joe, brother Bobby, and sister Velma. He is survived by wife Carol J. (Mattson) Huntsman, two sons; David Huntsman and his wife Nancy of Parker, Colo., Bryan Huntsman and his wife Carolyn of Bella Vista, Ark., daughter; Michelle Stracener of Rogers, Ark., three granddaughters; Stephanie, Lindsey and Sarah, four grandsons; John, Jeff, Daniel and Chris, and two great- granddaughters; Finley and McKinsey, two brothers; Harry Wayne Huntsman and his wife Wanda of San Diego, Calif., Jerry Huntsman and his wife Erma of Searcy, Ark., three sisters; Jane Walton and her husband Loyd of Tomball, Texas, Marie Bland of Jacksonville, Ark., Sandra Miller of Jacksonville, Ark. Services: Visitation will be Tuesday, November 5th from 4-6 p.m., at Epting Funeral Home of Gravette. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 6th at 11 a.m., at Mount Pisgah Cemetery north of Searcy, Ark., with Pastor Bill Query officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in J.C.'s honor may be sent to Grace Meadows Fellowship in Maysville, or the American Legion Post 71 of Cabot, Ark., or the Westark Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, https://www.westarkbsa.org/donate-to-scouting/.
