Charles Franklin Wesley, age 93, of Dardanelle passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 18, 1926 in Dardanelle to the late Joe F. and Pauline (Pfeifer) Wesley. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn (Wesley) McElroy. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years and 11 months, Mildred (Adney) Wesley; two daughters, Brenda Ragsdale (Terry) and Charla Keys (James); two grandchildren, Chris Keys (Sara) and Brittney Keys of Arkansas; two step-grandsons, Scott Ragsdale (Dee) and Chase Ragsdale (Libby) and five step-great-grandchildren of Virginia; one nephew and two nieces. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944 during WWII and retired in 1986 resulting in 42 years of continuous service to his country. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle; 50 year member of Bright Star Lodge #213 – 32nd degree mason; 50 year member of the OES; founding member of the River Valley Antique Car Club; and the last surviving original member of the Yell County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Dardanelle with Bro. Jim Benfer officiating; followed by a full Military Service at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle by Camp Robinson Funeral Honors. Pallbearers will be Larry McElroy, Steve Balloun, Vernon Lawhorn, Todd Renfroe, Randy Alford, and Steve Sheets. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby and Shirley Willis and Bill and Jane Payne.
