Jemi La Vasque, 86, of Jacksonville, Ark. died Thursday, July 25th after a long struggle with dipsomania. She was born October 24, 1932 to Grady and Eula Stuart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her sisters, and her loving husband, Milton, who was waiting patiently for her on the other side. She adored her father, who called her "Doogie" and there is no doubt that she is ecstatic at being reunited with him. Jemi was many things. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, a mother, an artist, a seamstress, a voracious reader, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, but she was not a cook. She and Milton raised four children, Katt, James, Marie, and Jon. They were also lucky enough to gain two more children over the years when Yolly and Tic Seedtibood came into their and their children's lives. Jemi and Milton encouraged their children to be independent and instilled in them a love for knowledge and bargains. Jemi worked hard to ensure a stable home and almost always put her family first. She was a stubborn and proud woman who is finally at peace and who undoubtedly is rejoicing in the fact that she is no longer controlled by the neurological devastation of her disease. She will be laid to rest at 1 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
