Ruth Inez Smith

Ruth Inez Smith 94 of Little Rock was born February 8, 1925 and passed away November 5, 2019. Ruth retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T (as she liked to say) after 44 years 6 months and 26 days. She was the longest attending member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday school classes for many years and worked in the Mother's Day out program. Although Ruth never married nor had children of her own, she helped raise and nurture many children while teaching Sunday School classes, babysitting and with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry & Mary Smith, four brothers, one sister, one niece and one nephew. She is survived by nephews, William Smith, Dennis (Linda) Smith, Clay (Marie) Howard, Jerry Douglass (Lois), nieces, Rosemary (Don) Pitzer, Marilyn Howard, Judy (Buzz) Goetsch, Patty (Scott) Baird, Avanell Rail, several great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Our special thanks to the aides, staff and friends at Andover and also to Kindred Hospice.
