Vernon Ray Merrell

Vernon Ray Merrell, 83, of Bald Knob, died Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy. He was born October 25, 1936 in Bald Knob a son of the late Ray and Ruth Pauline (Cooley) Merrell. Vernon was a member of the Fredonia Masonic Lodge and in earlier years was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was always proud of his career as a pipeline welder and was a member of the Local 798. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsy Glaze Merrell; sosn, Arnold Merrell (Lenore) and Spencer Merrell (Frances); four grandchildren, Jason Merrell, Kate Vaughn, Drew Merrell and Hannah Merrell; two great-grandchildren, Gwyn Merrell and Will Merrell. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Funeral services will be private.
