Katie Marie Seaton Wallis Fick, 88, of Jacksonville passed from this life on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Katie was born Monday, February 16, 1931 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Clay and Katie Annie Burkhead Seaton. Katie attended Jacksonville schools all of her life. She was an employee of General Telephone Company for thirty years and retired in 1991. She always said the people she worked with were like her family. Katie was a member of the First United Methodist church in Jacksonville and the upper room Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Wesley Circle; Eastern Star #520 in Jacksonville for over fifty years; Jacksonville Lions Club, North Metro Hospital Auxiliary and Jacksonville Garden Club. Katie also helped to establish the first Boys and Girls Club in Jacksonville. She will be missed so much my by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Haskel Wallis, husband of seventeen years, John Fick, her only son, Preston Wallis; sister, Polly Douglass; brothers, Henry and Buddy Seaton and great-grandson, Rhett Wallis. Katie is survived by daughter, Debbie Estes and her husband Robert; daughter-in-law, Brenda Wallis; granddaughters, Shannon Staton and her husband Shannon Joel, Sherrie Niece and her husband Bobby, Shandy Johnsen and her husband Will; grandson, Shane Wallis and his wife Jackie; great-grandsons, Caden Niece, Callen Niece and Spencer Staton; great-granddaughters, Saylor Staton and Paisley Wallis along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Cabot. Will Johnsen, Shannon Staton, Bobby Niece and Shane Wallis will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
