Joan Sizeland Bodie

Joan Sizeland Bodie of Richardson, Texas was born in Buffalo, New York, on March 28, 1932. She joined our Lord Jesus quietly in heaven surrounded by her immediate family on the morning of October 6, 2019. She gently passed away from complications with various age-related medical developments. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Morgan William Bodie, her sister Constance Sizeland Schonz and her parents, Clarence Melvin Sizeland and Charlotte Riechert Sizeland. She is survived by her three sons - David Jackson Bodie, Richard Morgan Bodie and Jonathan Dickens Bodie. Joan attended Stephens College in Missouri and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1952. She married Morgan William Bodie (Bill) in 1953 in Camden, Arkansas. After a stint in the U.S. Air Force, Joan and Bill ended up in Texas, living in Fort Worth, Dallas, and then Richardson, raising three sons in the process. Joan loved being a housewife and raising her sons. She also worked part time and was very active with friends in her neighborhood and the north Dallas area. She was a devout Christian and was committed to the Lord in every way. Joan's memorial service will be held on November 23rd of this year at The Richardson Woman's Club located at 2005 N. Cliffe Drive, Richardson, Texas 75082. Proceedings will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please RSVP at joanbodiememorial@gmail.com.
