Juanita Marie Stokes

Juanita C. Stokes, 82, of Camden passed away peacefully November 12, 2019. She was born February 8, 1937, the youngest child of Nolan and Blanche Cox. Juanita graduated from Bearden High School in 1955 and graduated from Draughn Business School in Little Rock in 1957. On December 20, 1958 she married Bob Stokes. They were married 60 years until Bob's death on December 20, 2018. Together they raised three daughters. Juanita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening and delighted in sharing vegetables from her garden with friends and neighbors. For many years Juanita's warm smile greeted patients at M&S Clinic. She retired as a bookkeeper from Gilchrist Bag Company where she made many friends. Juanita was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. When her girls were young she was an active member of First Baptist Church of East Camden, where she served as Church Secretary, taught Sunday School and supported the youth group. Along with her parents and husband, Juanita is predeceased by her brother, Bill Cox of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is survived by daughters, Angie McAdoo (Robbie) of East Camden, Terri Stebbins (Howard) of Little Rock and Susan Drummond (Rance) of Nashville, Arkansas. She loved and adored and was loved and adored by grandchildren, Tyler McAdoo (Brittany) of East Camden, Aaron and Will Stebbins of Little Rock, Nicole Drummond Hedstrom (Tanner) of Lawrence, Kansas, Casen Drummond of Nashville and great grands Hayden, Kenslee and Hudson Stokes McAdoo. Juanita is also survived by sister-in-law Emily Stokes of Cabot who was like a sister to her. The family would like to thank Juanita's amazing caregiver Tammy Gregory who kept her spirits bright. Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Don Phillips officiating.
