Marsha Wiggins Griffin, 82, of Crossett, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019, at the Stonegate Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.She was born the oldest of five children in Monroe, LA, on January 23, 1937, to her parents, W.C. and Eula Mae Dickerson Wiggins. She was a 1954 graduate of Crossett High School and received a degree from Draughan's School of Business in Memphis, TN. Marsha was an active member of First Baptist Church of Crossett, and from an early age, music and playing the piano were a significant part of her life. She enjoyed sharing her God-given talent to bring glory and praise to her Lord, and faithfully served as the church pianist for 40 years. She met the love of her life, Frank Griffin, on a blind date, and on September 12, 1962, they were wed.Their home was filled with love, laughter, and music while teaching the importance of their Christian faith. Marsha loved powerfully, unconditionally, and welcomed anyone into her home with open arms. She was the heart of the big, beautiful family she created. Her most beloved title was Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with which she shared her most precious moments. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jesse Frank Griffin; one sister, Linda Nicholas; three brothers-in-law, Murray, Charles, and Gene Griffin; three sisters-in-law, Jeanne, Angie, and Faye Griffin; and one niece, Kristi Wiggins. She leaves behind her three daughters, Leah Hendrix and husband, Tony, of Crossett, Laura Giannavola of Little Rock, and Ellen Templeton and husband, Roger, also of Little Rock; two brothers, Charles Wiggins and wife, Pat, of Wichita, Kan., and Phil Wiggins and wife, Judie, of Pinehurst, N.C.; one sister, Pat Wiggins of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Landon, Lance and wife, Shannon, Mason, Alex, Rosie, Griffin, Caroline, Sarah, and Max; six great-grandchildren, Logan, Ryan, Natalie, Caitlyn, Remi, and Presley; along with a host of nieces and nephews and cherished friend and caregiver, Gayle Gulledge. We will celebrate the life of Marsha at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 14th at First Baptist Church of Crossett, 701 Main St., with Bro. Greg Bennett and Pastor Jamie Staley officiating, followed by interment at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Landon Mercer, Lance Mercer, Mason Mercer, Alex Giannavola, Rosie Giannovola, Griffin Templeton, and Caroline Templeton. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at First Baptist Church on November 14th prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital or the Arkansas Alzheimer's Association. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of the Stonegate Villa Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ashley County Medical Center, and Life Touch Hospice of Monticello.
