Fayetteville, AR, 1946 - 2019

Becky Rae Cook, 73, of Fayetteville, peacefully passed away on November 3, 2019. She was born March 7, 1946 in Dixon, Illinois to Virgil Ray and Gertrude (Raffenberger) Childers.
Becky graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree and later received her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Arkansas. Becky devoted over 30 years to teaching and nurturing second grade students at Westwood Elementary School in Springdale.
Becky was a loving wife to her husband, Dan, of 51 years. They were married in Dixon, Ill. on August 10, 1968. Over the years they enjoyed spending time outdoors and traveling. The boated on Beaver lake, hiked the Ozark Mountains, and shared many adventures traveling the world together.
A backyard gardener, she carefully tended to her flower beds and loved the changes that came with each season. Becky was adored by her grandchildren. Whether decorating cookies, hunting for hidden surprises, doing science experiments, or snuggling up to read a book, she filled their lives with love and joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Dan Cook; daughter, Carrie Cook (David) Anderson of Benton, Ark.; two sisters, Julie (Don) Scott of Morganton, N.C. and Susan (Keith) Zickuhr of Mt. Morris, Ill.; and brother-in–law, James (Gwen) Cook of Dixon, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Greta and Will Anderson.
