Donald Aurel Vogel

Donald Aurel Vogel, 76, of North Little Rock, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2019 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital Hospice Unit. Donny was born on January 20, 1943 in Little Rock to Ruth and Aurel Vogel. Donny is survived by his sister, Nancy, brother-in-law, Olan, and niece Allison. Donny was a Navy Veteran. He served aboard the USS Power DD839 as a Fire Control Technician. After the Navy, he continued his education and graduated from UALR with a degree in Business. He then went to work for the State in Health Planning. Donny has always loved the cats, and because of this, was a loyal supporter of many animal charities. He was also a staunch environmentalist and contributed to several charities supporting nature and the environment. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the medical personnel that took care of Donny while he was in surgery, the SICU and then the Hospice Unit at McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. We would also like to thank the staff at 1B and 1E in Fort Roots for the care given to him this past year. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
