Zachary Joseph Alonso, age 20, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019. He was born on March 11, 1999, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to John Joseph and Elizabeth (Turner) Alonso. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, James Ford. He was a 2017 graduate of Fayetteville High School and a lifelong resident of Fayetteville. Zachary possessed a kind and gentle heart and was always taking care of others. He was always ready to help any friend in need, day or night. He loved his family, his friends and his two Labradors, Jazz and Snickers, who were constant companions. Favorite things were family gatherings and an annual beach trip with his cousins as well as hosting parties for his friends. Zach had an aptitude for science and computers and enjoyed building them. He loved playing video games and Dungeons and Dragons with friends as well. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Alonso of the home; his father, John Alonso and wife Michelle of Portugal; his grandmother, Carol Ford of Fayetteville; his grandparents, Juan and Elisabeth Alonso of Canada; his half siblings, Kate, Jaci, Genna and Jack Alonso; aunt and uncle, Sam and LeAnn Turner; aunt and uncle, Travis and Jennifer Turner; cousins, Tarahn, Blaine, Slaide, Sydney and Jack Turner; uncles, Jorge and Carlos Alonso; cousins, Carmen and Felix Alonso. A visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, in the chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
