Thelma M. Hughes, age 89, of Rogers died Monday, November 25, 2019 at a local skilled care center. She was born September 22, 1930 in England, Arkansas the daughter of Ola Mae Castleberry and Brian W. Speck. She was a member of First Christian Church of Rogers. She sang with the Saints Alive Choir for many years with Rogers First Baptist. She loved watching all Razorback Sports. She was a Medical Assistant for over 30 years. She was an avid reader, she loved flowers and working in her yard. In the late 1980's she served the City of Pea Ridge with the City Council. She loved spending quality time with her family, especially time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband; Charles Hughes in 1998, and her daughter; Cindy Keeling in 2019, one son; Daniel Charles Hughes in 1977, and three sisters; Wilma, Willa, and Betty. Thelma is survived by: three daughters; Charlene Hagan and her husband John, of Rogers, Susan Caldwell and her husband John, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Lynnette Harris and her husband Pat, of Rogers, one brother; Brian Speck Jr., of West Fork, two sisters; Mary Louise Hall, of Rogers, Wanda Heflin, of Rogers, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be: Friday from 5-7 p.m. at First Christian Church located in Rogers. A celebration of Thelma's life will be: Saturday at 10am at First Christian Church located in Rogers, with Randy Graves officiating. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park located in Rogers. Memorials may be sent to: First Christian Church of Rogers, to the "GRUB Fund."
