Maynard Louis Ciepiel, age 94, of Bella Vista died Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Northwest Medical Center located in Bentonville. He was born March 25, 1925 in Ashtabula, Ohio the son of Mary Sobieski and Walter Ciepel. Maynard was a World War II Navy Veteran serving abroad on the USS Woodworth, DD460 from June 1942 until July 1943. During the Korean War he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Naval Base, located in Cuba (Referred to as GITMO.) After serving in the Navy he spent most of his career on the N&W Railroad as a Car Inspector. He moved to Bella Vista after moving from Cleveland, Ohio. He loved playing poker, bird watching, and telling war stories, but most important to him, was spending quality time with his family. He was preceded in death by: his parents, and his wife of 64 years; Ann (Peklo) Ciepiel. Maynard is survived by: his daughter Joyce and her husband Tom, son Dennis, of Higley, Arizona, brother; Raymond Zapora and his wife Sharon, of Ohio, two granddaughters; Dina Ford and her husband James, and Cassy Ware and her husband Greg. He was a Great-grandpa to: Tanner, Lauren, Carson, Maddi, Connor, Colin, Kylee, Jace, and Bryn. In May 2020 he will be a great-great-grandpa to: Twins. Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 8th from 4-6pm at 709 Golders Green located in Cave Springs.
