Thurman "Gene" Pennel

Thurman "Gene" Pennel died peacefully September 30, 2019 in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 84. Gene is survived by three nieces, Charlene Cox Stockburger of Fayetteville, Ark. and Stacey Hooks and Tonya Cruisinberry, both of Wichita, Kan.; and four great-nieces, Sharla Keen-Mills and Kayla Mhoon of Fayetteville, Ark. and Alexa Cruisinberry and Kylee Boyd of Wichita, Kan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Pennel and Gladys Davis Pennel of Wichita, Kan.; and two sisters, Lorraine Cox of Fayetteville, Ark. and Dora Grace "Happy" DeMaio of Wichita, Kan. Gene was born on March 1, 1935 in Cane Hill, Ark. and attended Prairie Grove High School. He then moved to Wichita, Kan. where he began his career at Cessna Aircraft Company. Upon his retirement from Cessna in 1996, he moved to Whitney Mountain in Lost Bridge Village, Ark. Private interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark.
