Leonard G Matthew

Leonard G. Matthew Jr., 87, passed away on October 4, 2019 in Rogers. He was born on February 5, 1932 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Leonard G. Matthew, Sr. and Margaret (Waitman) Matthew. He was raised in Rogers where he played football and graduated from Rogers High School in 1950. He went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Leonard raised buffalo and was nicknamed "Buffalo Man" by all his friends. He was a member of the Brightwater Methodist Church, served as an Alderman in Garfield in 2007. He was also an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Matthew; and granddaughter, Misty Belue. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Belue and her husband, Meldon of Ft. Smith; brothers, Joe Matthew of Kansas and Bruce Matthew of Rogers; grandson, Kurt Belue; and great-granddaughter, Chloe-Ray Belue.
