Waylon J. Lyons, 93, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord, October 10, 2019. He was born September 28, 1926, to the late Otis and Kate Lyons in Republican, Arkansas. He was a member of the Living Way Foursquare Church, where he served on the church council and the last three years as an Elder in the Standing Guard. Waylon served in the Navy during WWII. After serving his country he came home to be a farmer, and later a truck driver. He retired from ABF after 39 years to spend more time with his family. Waylon is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mildred L. Lyons, one son, Bobby Gene Lyons; two brothers Rev. Otis E. Lyons, and J.L. Lyons; two sisters Lou Lee Owens and Phyllis Turney. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Lyons (Loretta); sister, Marvell Hardy (Frank); seven grandchildren, Jimmy Lyons, Jr. (Sandy), Renee Jackson (Wesley), Jenny Fletcher (Ben), Katherine Lyons (Edwin), Nickie Starkey (Tom), Bobbie Jo Acklin (Fred), Jessie Lyons; 11 great-grandchildren Jamie and Ashley Lyons, Joseph Waylon Jackson (Kerry), Anna Jackson, Jennifer Gifford (Thomas), Abby Jackson, Jo Fletcher, Shelby Weatherly, Scarlett Weatherly, T.L. Adam Ham, Sadie Lyons, and one great-great-grandson, Leo Ledbetter, as well as several nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A special thank you to his friends Linda Martin and Dewayne Snider, the compassionate care Baptist Health Hospice provided, including his nurses Aaryn Brown and Hayley Hogan and his aide Trisha Allen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Living Way Foursquare Church, P.O. Box 56020, Little Rock, Ark. 72215-6020. Visitation will be held from 11:30-12:30 p.m. October 12, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
