Peter Gay Estes Jr., of Fayetteville, died October 9 at Willard Walker Hospice House. Peter was adored by his friends, children and grandchildren who lovingly called him Ging Ging. He was devoted to his family, profession, friends, church and community. Peter was born in Fayetteville, Ark., on June 23, 1946, to the late Francis Louise Hannah and Peter Gay Estes Sr. He was educated in the Fayetteville public school system, graduating from Fayetteville High School in 1964. He continued his education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Management. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. In 1968, Peter went into Officer Candidate School. As a Lieutenant JG in the United States Navy, he served two tours in Vietnam on the Salvage Ship USS Safeguard. Peter then went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville 1973. He practiced law with his father, daughter and son during the course of his 40 year career. Peter is survived by his daughter, Amy Estes Turner, son, Peter G. "Tripp" Estes, and his wife Brandy, and three grandchildren, Abigail Elizabeth Estes, Hannah Kathryn Estes, and Alexander Estes Turner. He is also survived by his sister Janet Estes Brown and her three sons. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 224 N. East Street, Fayetteville, on Monday, October 14 at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or to the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville.
