Willie Jo Acord Jones, 89 year old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 12, 2019 peacefully at her home. She was born on December 20, 1929 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Joe and Lottie Acord.
Willie Jo was a graduate of North Little Rock High School where she met her future husband, Bernard M. Jones. They were married on September 3, 1949 in North Little Rock. They moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas in 1954.
Willie Jo had a life long career as a bookkeeper. She worked for Jones-Brown Pontiac Buick from 1966 to 1976. In 1977 she went to work for Jepson Drug store where she finished her career in 2007 of 30 years.
She was a devoted member of The Assembly of God Church. She and Bernard sang in a trio. She was a Sunday School teacher and youth director for most of her life. She used the gift and love for cooking and entertaining to bless and minister to a multitude of people. She hosted weekly Home Fellowship events in her home mentoring and discipling many.
Her supreme joy in life was rooted in her love of the Lord. She was lovingly devoted to her husband as a truly Proverbs 31 wife. She was a lovingly devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her beautiful spirit and sunny attitude were infectious.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 15, 2013. Survivors include three children, Duane Jones and wife Valerie of Siloam Springs, Melinda Wilson and husband David of Siloam Springs, and Gordon Jones and wife Julie of Tampa, Florida; eight grandchildren Maranda Glenn and husband Ryan, Ashely Joyner and husband Cody, Brett Wilson and wife Brooke, Garrett Jones, Adam Jones, Taylor Jones, Katie Jones and Emily Jones; seven great grandchildren Lauren, Conner and Cole Glenn, Kyrus Newby, Kade, Kayla and Gage Wilson; three sisters DeLois Eddy of Conway, Arkansas, Becky Kerr of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Bobbie Moore of Conway, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
