After high school graduation, Marion attended a business school where she gained the skills necessary to be a proficient secretary. While working in New Orleans, La. she met and married (1958) Melvin John Cannatella. She left the business world to tend to her children, home and yard. Her home was a hub of activity. Besides being filled with numerous children, the home was a paradise for animals. Marion was passionate about caring for her pets- dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and fish. She was a one-woman rescue shelter for dogs and cats. Marion would spend hours smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee with her friends as children came and went. Once the children were grown and out of the house, Marion began volunteering at the Lake Village Food Pantry where she enjoyed socializing with the other volunteers as much as providing a service to those in need. Marion was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and a member of The Altar Society. The family recognizes with sincere appreciation Willie white, Frances Dixon, and Cheryl Davies, who so lovingly cared for Marion, and all the friends who visited with her during the past year of her confinement.
