Linda Kay Stephens Fuches, 79, formerly of DeWitt, much loved mother, Momlin, sister, aunt, and caring friend to many peacefully passed away on October 20, 2019, in Springdale with her family at her side. She was born April 16, 1940, in Crocketts Bluff, Ark., to Clifford and Mary Elizabeth (Quattlebaum) Stephens. Linda attended Maguire one room school and graduated from DeWitt High School in 1957. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl, on June 1, 1958, and remained in DeWitt to raise her family. Linda was a Jaycette and worked for L.A. Black, Sears, and Roebuck catalog store, and later retired from First National Bank of DeWitt, where she worked for many years. She was a member of Crocketts Bluff Missionary Baptist Church and loved her family, friends, reading, Coke, Razorback football and basketball, and collecting angels. The yearbook phrase assigned to her – "Deeds not words" provides such an accurate description of who she was. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Fuches; brother, C.E. Stephens; and nephew, Greg Stephens. Survivors include her daughters, Carlas Armstrong of Marion, Tracy Haley (James) of Springdale, and SuBeth Griffin of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jared Griffin, Damon Bivens (Jinny), Summer Bivens Vaughn (Ben), Braden Haley, Kalyn Haley; great-grandchildren, Joslyn Bivens, Brodie Bivens, Ruby Vaughn, Ada Vaughn; sister, Mary Brashear (Jack); brother, Gary Stephens (Brenda); special niece, Becky West (Gary); and dear friend, Betty West (Billy). Visitation and life celebration service will be at Crocketts Bluff Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, October 25. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. with the service immediately following at noon.
