William (Bill) R. Paschal - Born June 5th, 1952 to James (Sam) and Jeannette Paschal in Paterson, New Jersey, but moved to Oklahoma at an early age. He was a self-taught artist working mainly in ink and water colors, with proof of his talent as early as six years old. He went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in Journalism and Marketing from the University of Oklahoma. After a couple of years roaming the country, Bill decided to join the family business, Paschal Tile, in Tulsa, Okla. Helping to expand the business allowed for the creation of Paschal Studios, a pet project of Bill's which produced hand painted tiles and murals for the residential market. Bill transitioned his professional works to decorative concrete staining and design. He loved the fact that both the tile and concrete businesses allowed him to express his incredible artistic abilities each day. Bill's most treasured gifts were his three children, Alecia, Eric and Amy, and the wonderful life he worked so hard to provide them with. Whether it was planning the most perfect family vacations, supporting every sport his kids showed interest in, or creating the most memorable costumes for holidays and activities, Bill was always smiling and focused on making lasting memories with the ones he loved. You could find Bill most Saturdays cheering on his beloved Oklahoma Sooners and to honor his love for them, we will wear our OU gear as part of his memorial service celebration. As he entered retirement, he moved to the Fayetteville, Ark., area to be with his partner, Sara Miller, and he filled his time substitute teaching, oil painting, and traveling. Unfortunately, his golden years were cut short with a devastating diagnosis of ALS in June 2018, but even through this terrible disease, Bill never lost his smile or love of life. With great joy, Bill gave his life to Christ as he battled this disease and we are confident he is now dancing with Jesus. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James (Sam) and Jeannette Paschal. He is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Alecia and Bahati Brown; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Caitlin Paschal; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Joshua Lee; grandchildren: Jerry and John Brown, William (Will) Paschal, Owen and Kate Lee; partner, Sara Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mindy Paschal; nephews: Brian Paschal and family, and Brett Paschal and family; as well as countless friends and family members. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to TeamGleason.org or the ALS Association in Bill's honor. Services for Bill will be Friday, November 1, 2019, at 2 p.m., at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service, with Pastor Brandon McCombs officiating. Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Ark., handled the local Arkansas arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.memorialfhspringdale.com.
