Georgia Mae Byrd-Herndon

Georgia Mae Byrd Herndon, 97, of Little Rock, transitioned on October 27, 2019. Georgia accepted Christ early in life and was a faithful member of White United Methodist Church. After junior college, she migrated to Washington D.C. and worked as a typist during WWII. Upon returning to Little Rock, she married James Franklin Herndon, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1969.Georgia was an avid "Junktiquer" and gardener. She worked tirelessly providing a wonderful life for her sons, James Franklin, Phillip George and Orlando Charles. Her legacy of integrity, courage, passion and love for life and an abiding belief in Christ are a beacon to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Funeral service 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at White United Methodist Church, 2901 Wolfe St., Little Rock, Ark. Burial will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
