Bobby Joe McAlister, 86, of Knoxville, Arkansas, died Monday, September 2, 2019, at Johnson County Regional Medical Center in Clarksville, Ark. A son of George and Ruby Nell (Hickey) McAlister, he was born June 6, 1933, near Dover, Arkansas. He married Anna Joyce (Goates) McAlister in August, 1954, near Paris, Ark. He was a mechanic and machinist operator in the automobile industry during his working career. Bob J. enjoyed sailing, scuba diving and reading his Bible. He and his wife worshipped with the Assembly of God faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Burl & Gerald McAlister. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce McAlister of Knoxville; his daughter, Lynn McAlister, of Little Rock; two sisters-in-law, Carol McAlister and Joann McAlister, both of Glendora, California; and several nieces & nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held at Pollard Cemetery north of Dover on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 10 a.m., under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
