Edward Lee (Eddie) McNeal
Fayetteville, AR, 1951 - 2019Edward Lee (Eddie) McNeal, 67, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born November 20, 1951 in Fayetteville to Charles and Ruth (Smith) McNeal. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Eddie participated in music from junior high through college. During his time at Fayetteville High School, Eddie was a member of the acapella choir as well as in the band earning accolades in all region choir as well as all region and all state band. After his graduation from FHS, Eddie attended the University of Arkansas where he was the first 4-year tubist for the U of A Marching Band.
Eddie's love affair with cars began at a young age. Eddie began selling cars at McNeal Motor Company prior to 1964. At 16 he began working at Goff-McNair Motor company in Fayetteville and went on to manage the company. After Goff-McNair closed its doors, Eddie sold Lincoln and Mercury vehicles for Tim Hurd LM, Putnam Motors in Fort Smith, Ark., Bob Maloney Lincoln Mercury in Rogers, Ark. Most recently he was the owner/manager of Auto Plaza where he continued to sell Lincoln and Mercury vehicles to many of his long-time customers and friends.
He is survived by his sister; Marcia Woody and her partner Michael Taylor of Fayetteville, brothers; David McNeal and his wife Jennifer of Richland, Washington, and Marty McNeal and his wife Kelly of West Fork, his nieces Shannon Bode, Nicole Taylor, and Sarah McNeal Sutton, nephews; Robert McNeal, William McNeal, Zach Taylor, Chas McNeal, and Jackson McNeal, as well as several cousins and many friends who were all very special to him.
