Albert L. Dodson, 88, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019. He was born February 2, 1931 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Bert and Rosena Ison Dodson. He was a graduate of North Little Rock High school, a deacon and member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, a Razorback fan and retired from the Rock Island Railroad in 1980. During his retirement years he drove a bus for Pulaski County Special School District. Albert was saved when he was 16 years old. He spent every minute of his life, and even in death, glorifying the name of Jesus. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Albert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon "Susie" Dodson; daughter, Christina (Mike) Null; sons, Jon (Robyn) Dodson and David (Gwen) Dodson; eleven grandchildren, April, Josh, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Nathan, Anna Kate, Suzy, Hannah, Joylynn and Zeb; six great-grandchildren, William, Alice, Ella, Thomas, Levi and Clara; and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Waymon John Dodson, Francis Smithson, Amy Thomas and Bert Dodson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 at the church. Burial will be in Bayou Meto Cemetery. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
