Katie Thompson

Katie Simpson Thompson, 89, died in Little Rock on September 9, 2019. She was born to Henry and Bernice Simpson on May 3, 1930. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Thompson of Newport, Arkansas; her parents, her brother, Charles Simpson; and her sisters, Margaret and Henrietta Simpson. Katie was a graduate of El Dorado High School. Katie and Joe operated a trucking business in Newport and Katie also worked in the banking industry. Katie relocated to Little Rock in 1999. She was a devoted member of Chenal Valley Church of Christ. Katie will be missed by her many friends from the community and church. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2019 at Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Jackson's Funeral Home in Newport.
