Ewell Ray Birchfield, 73, passed away September 12, 2019. He was born in Eureka Springs to the late Norman Lee "Bud" and Jennie Bohannon Birchfield. He worked as a Quality Control manager for Emerson Electric and Superior Wheel, retiring in 2007. Ray spent his time hunting, fishing and photographing wildlife. He shared his knowledge and love of the outdoors, teaching his children, grandchildren, family and friends to love hunting and fishing as much as he did. Ray never met a stranger, he loved talking to people, sharing his many hunting and fishing stories. He always had time to help out family, friends and anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all. Ray's Christian faith assured him that he would meet his departed loved ones in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Randy and Rob Birchfield; and a grandson, Jacob Birchfield. Thanks to his relationship with his Lord, he's celebrating with them now, where there's no more sickness, no more tears, and all the fish he can catch! He is survived by his wife, Paty Birchfield of the home; children, James Birchfield (Tonia), Steve Birchfield, Tammy Malcom (Danny); two step-daughters, Traci Hill (Dan), Robin Rounds (Jamie); eleven beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Colby, Brittany, Baylea, Cheryl, TJ, Jordin, Drew, Mason, Dustin, Draye; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Birchfield (Donna), Mike Birchfield, Jewel Bohannon (Nancy); and many cherished friends. The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and all of the compassionate caregivers who looked after Ray. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.
