Carroll M Smith

Carroll M. Smith, 80, of Osceola, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was born August 25, 1939 in Oxford, Ark. to Leo and Erma Lee Smith. He retired after 32 years from the Osceola School District where he served as Principal and Superintendent, he also taught in other school districts before coming to Osceola. A member of the Osceola Church of Christ, Arkansas School Administration Association, Kiwanis Club, Blytheville Air Force Base Counsel, served on the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees at Crowley's Ridge College and was an Alumni to Phi Delta Kappa. He spent one term on the Osceola School Board after retirement. His most enjoyable and proud moment in his career was when the new Carroll Smith Elementary School was named in his honor. He is survived by his wife Ellen Lorene Smith of Osceola; daughter-in-law: Pamela Smith; granddaughter: Loren Elizabeth Smith both of Osceola; sisters: Sharon Floyd and Donna Floyd; in-laws: Joe (Barbara) Beck, Glenda (Mike) O'Neal and Carol Scott. He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Steve Carroll Smith; grandson: Lance Carroll Smith; sister: Evelyn Carpenter; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Loren and Georgia Beck and brother-in-laws: Robert Scott and Fred Floyd. Visitation will be Wednesday September 18, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Osceola Church of Christ. Funeral Service will be held Thursday September 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Osceola Church of Christ. Burial will be private. Online guestbook:
