Edwin Scott Sutton

Edwin Scott Sutton, 70, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1948 in Hackensack, N.J. to Charles and Elisabeth (Orr) Sutton. Scott graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1966 and then received a Bachelor of Arts at Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut (1970). He then earned a Master of Divinity, with distinction, from Episcopal Theological Seminary in Cambridge Massachusetts (1973). Scott moved to the Ozarks in the mid 1970's where he met his wife Catherine and then earned a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Arkansas in the 1980's. Professionally, Scott found his passion working with people, first with SCAN and then as am employee at Ozark Guidance Center for many years. Scott transitioned into private practice later in life and continued to practice his trade until the very end. He was a man of myriad hobbies. He was a fencer, a hiker, an avid canoeist, a caver, a fisherman, a gardener, a carpenter, a hockey player, and lover of literature and all of the arts. Scott is survived by his wife, Catherine Totten (of Fayetteville), his brother Keith Sutton, (of Huntingdon, Pa.) and his two sons Ashley (of Fayetteville) and Ethan (of Durango Colorado). A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21st at the "North Forty" located at 40 N. Crossover in Fayetteville. There will be speakers, a slide show, and a potluck to follow.
