Mary Catherine Beard

Mary Catherine Beard, 87, of Sherwood passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019. She was born October 24, 1931 in McCrory, Arkansas to B.A. and Sarah Cain Brown. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family, including her four siblings. She enjoyed taking trips with her siblings, as well as following the many travels and adventures of her grandchildren. Mary was a member of Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene and was very involved in church and sang in the choir. She loved to send cards of encouragement, and was a faithful prayer warrior. She is survived by her three children, Richard Beard (Julie), Karen Beard (Carla High) and Sharon McGee (Kenny); grandchildren, Nikki and Christopher; her three siblings, Syble Lamberson, Tommy Brown and Jean Mauldin; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 40 years, Roy Gordon Beard Jr. "Sonny" and a brother, Boyce Brown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, with a visitation prior to service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park.
