Fred J. Williams, 80, of Dumas, Arkansas passed away September 19, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born November 23, 1938 in Mountain Pine, Arkansas and was the son of the late, Ira Bradford Williams and Edith Young Williams. His parents and one sister, Martha Milting, preceded him in death. Fred moved to Dumas when entering the 8th grade. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1956. Went on to UAM and received a BSF degree in forestry. He worked as a forester for many years before going into business himself. Fred was owner of Dumas Motor Company and had been in heavy truck sales for the past 48 years. He was a member of Dumas First United Methodist Church where he had been very active and served on numerus committees. Civic responsibility was always a very important aspect of Fred's life. He led and served on numerous boards and committees such as: Dumas Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, past president Dumas Area Art Council, Past chairman Dumas Industrial and UAM Foundation. He was appointed to the National Ford Dealer Council at a young age. In recent years he was privileged to serve as a member of the Stone Bank Board of Directors. Mr. Williams also served as Captain in the Arkansas National Guard serving from 1955 until 1972. Survivors are his wife, Loetta Sutton Williams of Dumas, Arkansas and their daughter, Charlotte and husband Jay Parker of Houston, Texas, two grandsons, Stephen Parker and Warren (Sarah) Parker and two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Cameron Parker. Funeral services held 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Dumas, with Dr. Tandy Hanson and Hardy Peacock officiating. Interment held 1 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2019 at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas. Memorials in memory of Mr. Williams may be made to American Cancer Society at ACS CAN, P.O.
