Mr. Norman Wayne Stacks, also known by nicknames, "Cigarman","Blubber" or his favorite "Bub" by his grandchildren, made his transition peacefully at UAMS on Sept 14, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 93. Norman is survived by his daughters: Norma Runk of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Barbara Stacks of Little Rock, son-in-law: Tommy Jones of Tennessee; grandson: Kris Runk; granddaughters: Amy Jones Wedemeyer of Nashville, Tennessee, Kristy Runk Boyce (Tony) of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Ali Jones of Nashville, Tennessee; great grandchildren: Thomas and Henry Wedemeyer, Spencer, Justin, Bennett and Boston Boyce. He was greeted in heaven by his wife: Theda Barbara Stacks and his daughter: Dee Stacks Jones of Little Rock, Arkansas; parents: Elijah and Ruby Stacks; brother: Basil Stacks. Norman was born on September 11, 1926 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended Little Rock Central High School till he left to join the Navy and served in WWII. After the war ended, he returned to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he met and married Theda Barbara Stacks, the love of his life in 1948. He had a wonderful voice and sang proudly in the St Luke Choir over 60 years. He was playful, young at heart, mischievous and despite staggering health concerns, never lost his sense of humor. People marveled at his memory, sharpness and his generous heart. He stood 5ft 6 1/2 inches tall, however, people of all heights looked up to him. A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 at St. Luke Methodist Church, 6401 W 32nd St. Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VA, Carelink or to charities of your choice in his name. The family would like to thank the VA Home based Primary Care team for their devoted care and to Carelink. Also a special thanks to all the gifted and dedicated caregivers and the physical and occupational therapist, who all stood amazed at how he never gave up. Angels come in all forms
