George Melvin Jackson, 83, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 20, 2019. He was born January 18, 1936 to Vernon and Betty Leona Jackson in Hazen, Arkansas. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock. George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Lee Dooley Jackson, of North Little Rock; daughters, Martha Smith (Lee), of Sherwood, Della Brown (Cary), of Cabot and Melanie Mason (Mark), of Lonoke; brothers, Charles Jackson, of Maysville, Oklahoma, Carthel Jackson, of Sherwood and Owen Jackson, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Claire Jackson, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Loretta Jackson, of Duncan, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. George is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Genevieve Park; brothers, Arvil, Harold and Herbert Jackson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Little Rock Veteran Hospital and Premier Health and Rehabilitation. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2019 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street.
