Mona Lou (Cole) Holt, age 88, of Fayetteville died Thursday, September 26, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born September 21, 1931 in Fayetteville to John Earl and Iva (Moore) Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters and her beloved husband, Wiley B. "Joe" Holt. She was a graduate of Rogers High School and Fayetteville Business College. She and Joe were long-time members of Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church where they were married June 12, 1955. They enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She worked at Bates Elementary School for many years as a librarian and school secretary. Later, she was a member of Sequoyah United Methodist Church and volunteered at NARTI and Washington Regional Medical Center. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her sons: Brian and his wife Debbie of Fayetteville; Joe and his wife Jean of Edmond, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Aaron and his wife Susan, Wiley and his wife Rachel, Andrew and his wife Grace, Lillian, Anna, Lucas and Caleb; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayetteville followed by a private family burial at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
