Doctor Kacie Marie Barnett Gage, age 31 of Monticello, lost her courageous fight, Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home. She was born March 11, 1989 in Monticello, AR to Michael Shane Barnett and Karen Marie Clough Stewart Kacie graduated from Drew Central in 2007 as valedictorian. Kacie went on to further her education earning a bachelor of science in biology from UAM. She continued on to UAMS where she earned a doctorate of pharmacy in 2015. During her studies at UAM, she met and fell in love with KC. They wed on April 22, 2017. Kacie was employed as Director of Pharmacy at Drew Memorial. She was a black belt in Ishynru Karate where she practiced under the leadership of Rickie Arendale for over 20 years. Kacie's passions were reading, running, baking cupcakes, Halloween, and Lady Gaga. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Peggy Barnard Clough Schiesser and Charles Clough; step-grandfather, Carroll Stewart and father-in-law, C.C. Gage. Kacie is survived by her husband, K.C. Gage of Monticello, Ark., her mother, Karen Stewart and step father Keith of Monticello, Ark., her father, Shane Barnett and step-mother Tina of Lacey; one sister, Kristina Gaona and her husband Patrick of Houston, Texas, one step-sister Frankie Tillman of White Hall, Ark., three brothers, Brady Barnett and wife Kayla, Eddie Barnett and Jace Barnett all of Monticello, Ark., grandparents, Dink and Carol Barnett of the Green Hill community, step-grandmothers, Janice Stewart, of Monticello, Ark., Pat Clough of Plaquemine, La., step-grandfather, Jack Schiesser, of Monticello, Ark., her mother-in-law, Karen Gage, of Monticello, Ark., as well as a numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her family would like you to know, her battle has been won and she is in the arms of Jesus. Kacie's viewing will be from 1–7 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2020 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello, Ark. We ask that you follow Covid-19 protocol and no more than 10 people at a time in the visitation room and you keep the CDC recommended 6 foot distance from each other.
