Hawkins Gordon MillerAnniston, AL, 1935 - 2020
Capt. Hawkins Gordon Miller, USN Ret.(84) of Anniston, Ala., went home to Jesus on Sunday. July 26, 2020. He was born September 18, 1935. in Wilmot, Ark. He graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, Ark., and from Southern State University in Magnolia, Ark. He joined the Navy in 1958 and served his country for 29 years, retiring in 1987 with multiple honors including a Gold Star. He was an artist, poet, craftsman, chef, navigator, animal lover, gardner, loyal friend and a loving and generous husband and father. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of love!
He is survived by his wife Joan Miller of Magnolia, Ark.; his son, Brad (Laurie) Miller of Flower Mound, Texas,, daughter Joy (Robert) Henson; and granddaughter, Delaney Henson of Roswell, Ga.
There is much rejoicing in Heaven as he is now reunited with his father Hawkins Miller, mother Agnes McClellan, brother Ben Miller and sister Charlotte Cordon. His ashes will be entombed at NAS Pensacola Mausoleum.
