Hazen, AR, 1943 - 2020

Chyde Qualls, 77, of Hazen, passed away on August 10, 2020, at Baptist Health medical Center in North Little Rock, Ark. Chyde was born May 12, 1943, in Hazen, Ark., to Ruth Qualls and Teddy Miller. Chyde graduated in 1963 from Biscoe High School in Biscoe, Ark. He formerly united in marriage to the late Harriet (Williams)Qualls Dupriest. He formerly worked as a federal employee at the now defunct Joliet Arsenal (renamed Joliet Army Ammunition Plant) as well as at Riceland Foods in Hazen, Ark.
Chyde is survived by his sons, Patrick Qualls (North Little Rock, Ark.) and Carl Qualls (Wheaton, Illinois); daughter, Lisa Qualls (North Little rock, Ark.); grandchildren, Amber (Milton) Choice (Colorado Springs, Colo.) Etienne Qualls (Wheaton, Illinois), Patrick Qualls, Jr. (North Little Rock, Ark.) and Arin Langston (Jacksonville, Fla.); three great-grandchildren; sisters, Zola Jackson (Hazen, Ark.), Ruth Jane Qualls (Hazen, Ark.), Baseemah (Wali)Hasan (Ft. Worth, Texas); brothers, Leodus (Dorothy) Qualls, (Pine Bluff, Ark.) and Zakee Wadood, Sr. (Hazen, Ark.) and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Qualls; father, Teddy Miller; and brother, Demetrious Qualls.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen, Ark.
