Betty June Barnett, the daughter, of Ted and Iolene (Ford) Carson, was born June 20, 1937, in Lowell, Ark., and departed this life on December 1, 2020, in Tahlequah, Okla., at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 11 days. Betty enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed taking the grandkids to the creek and catching crawdads. Betty was very talented in the art of sewing, quilting and crocheting. She read about a million books and wore out several pairs of shoes square dancing. She enjoyed traveling around and seeing the country. Maybe her greatest talent, or the one everyone loved, was her cooking. She was a great cook and could cook just about anything. She specialized in baking. She made great apple dumplings, perfect peanut brittle without using a candy thermometer, and a three layer chocolate cake that was everyone's favorite. Betty made an impression on many lives over the years, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy Gene Barnett; her children, Rick Barnett and Cheryl Barnett; her brothers, Gene Carson and Wayne Carson and her sister, Ada Pitts. She is survived by a loving family which includes her sons, Lynn Barnett and wife Monica of Tahlequah and Royce Barnett and wife Renae of Bartlesville; her sisters, Dorothy Penney of Springdale and Bonnie Harper of Kan; eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
