Rev. Kenneth Eugene Harris, Sr.

Rev. Kenneth Eugene Harris, Sr. was born October 28, 1949, in Gould, Ark., to Martha Jane Rucker Jennings and Thomas Western Harris, Jr. He was the oldest of five children and was affectionately called "Main." Kenneth accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of Reverend C.L. Washington at First Missionary Baptist Church in Gould, Ark. He became a member of Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, February 12, 1978, under the leadership of Rev. L.K. Solomon where he was ordained as a minister. He later became pastor of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church for 18 years in his hometown of Gould, Ark. He is survived by his parents, Thomas Western Harris, Jr. (Ernestine) and Martha Jennings; his loving wife of 52 years, Alamae Harris; two sons, Terry Smith (Letitia), Kenneth E. Harris, Jr. (Cheryl) and his nephew that was his son/mentee in the ministry; Larry Ward, Jr. (Lana); daughter, Alesha L. Harris; brother, Odis Jackson; sisters, Betty Faye Hebert, Karen Smith, Marital Jennings, and Lakota Mims (Clyde); a favorite cousin that was like a sister, Gloria Graham (Alvin); aunt, Fannie Pugh; uncle, Samuel Harris; four grandchildren, Kenneth Harris, III (Trey), Taylor Ann Harris, Paul Cruz, and Deliria Cruz-Smith; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Based on the Guidelines recommended by the CDC related to Covid-19, there will be a private family service due to capacity. There will be an option to attend virtually via Indiana Street Baptist Church website. We would love for all to pay their respects during the Walkthrough Visitation Friday, December 11, 2020, from 5-7 p.m., at Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Ark. Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.
