Rev. Leon Williams, Sr.

Rev. Leon Williams, Sr. was born September 19, 1948, to the late Lewis James Williams and Charlie Mae Roaf Williams (King) in Pine Bluff, Ark. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. In 2006 he united with Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. Rev. Williams was a 1967 graduate of Coleman High School, served in the U.S. Air Force 1967-1971 during Vietnam, a 1977 Graduate of Pines Vocational Technical School, accepted the call in the ministry March 3, 1981 and retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal in 1993. On December 4, 2020 Rev. Williams won the race he ran so well. He is survived by his beloved wife, Laetta Williams, three siblings, Dr. Lou Jean Turner (Albert) of Jacksonville, Ark., Lewis Williams (Dr. Margarette) and Larry Williams (Martha Ann) of Pine Bluff, Ark; six children, Leona Reshay Williams Washington of Atlanta, Ga., Latonya Lewis of San Antonio, Texas, Leslie Woods (Carlous), Leondra Williams, Rev. Leon Williams Jr., and Laron Williams of Pine Bluff, Ark., and 14 grandchildren and the loving congregation of True Vine "E" M.B.C. Viewing 4:30 to 5:50, p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020, at Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, Ark. Funeral service 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020, at True Vine "E" Missionary Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Ark., by Rev. Richard Bifford. Interment in Forrest Lawn Cemetery.
