Larry Michael Pruss, 56, of North Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020. He was born March 6, 1964, in North Little Rock, Ark., to Felix and Mildred Pruss. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Leslie Gibbs Pruss; children, Brian Kelley (Brittany), Allyson Kelley (Ronald), and Jimmy Reed (Brittney); eight grandchildren, Isabella, Brelle, Laylah, Makaylin, Olivia, Kayson, Jimmy Jr., Mar-Lee and one to be born in March; siblings, Sarah Haynes (Larry), Barbara Hahn (Gene), Lynn Pruss (Helen), Debbie Palmquist (Randy), Tommy Pruss (Sharon), Vicki Weed (Rick), James Pruss (Michele), Lori Rhoads (Gary), Lisa Pruss (Philip), and Bo Pruss (Debra); and 36 nieces and nephews; 43 great-nieces and nephews; seven great-great-nieces and nephews; and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Donald Albert Pruss and Michael William Pruss. Larry started his career with Brant Brothers in North Little Rock as a mechanic. He retired from Maumelle Water after over 25 years of service. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Maumelle FD for 12 years, rising to the rank of Captain and was volunteer fireman of the year in 2008. Larry was most known for his kindness and unconditional love. He would go above and beyond to help anyone in need. His infectious laugh would brighten everyone's day. He was a NASCAR super fan and loved Dale and Dale Jr and very seldom missed a race on TV and attended countless races across the country. He was a Washington Redskins fan through the good and the bad just like he would stand by his family and friends. Larry loved his extensive family. He especially loved pestering his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, a lot like his father. He was a loving generous man and will be missed by those who were blessed to know him. A visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Marche, Ark. State of AR COVID-19 directives: Face coverings required. Maintain social distancing.
