Janie Sue Watkins Derrick

Janie Sue Watkins Derrick (Mimi) age 94 of Benton, Ark., formerly of Waldo, Ark., passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Heartland Rehabilitation and Care Center in Benton. She was born on August 2, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Katie Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl Derrick, an infant daughter, three brothers Tommy, H.I and Jake Watkins. Survivors are one daughter Debbie Bowers (Jim) of Benton, Ark., one son, Tony Derrick (Jane) of Sunnyvale, Texas, one sister Pat Chambers of St. Charles, Mo., four grandchildren Stephanie Hardin (Brian) of Bryant, Ark., Jennifer Ball (Shane) of Forney, Texas, Stacey Foot (Jeremy) of Alexandria, Va., and Daniel Derrick (Brandi) of Arlington, Texas, six great-grandchildren, Bridgette, Gracie, Trent, Josh, Jeremiah, and Delaney, and one great- great grandson Nolan Michael. A private family graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery on Monday, December 21, 2020 with Bro. David Watkins officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, Ark. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Waldo or the Shiloh Cemetery. We wish to express our gratitude to Heartland Rehab and Care Center in Benton, Ark., for the excellent care and comfort that she received during this time and for their thoughtfulness and kindness toward the family.
