Laura Virginia (Thomas) Dayd passed peacefully at home on December 16, 2020. Born July 3, 1939 to Willie Sr., and Ida Dillard Thomas in Little Rock, Ark. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margaret Varner and Mary Young. Survived by brother Willie Thomas Jr., of Little Rock, Ark., her caring and devoted husband of 63 years Conrad Dayd, Sr., five children: Ronita (Greg) Pinckney of San Antonio, Texas; Conrad Dayd, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas; Delisa (Pastor J.T., recently departed) Watkins of Columbus, Ohio; Carmelita (Michael) Solomon of Harrisburg, Pa.; and Leslie Dayd of La Vista, Neb., seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Laura graduated from Scipio A. Jones High School in North Little Rock, Ark. Laura was a charmer and stole the heart of Conrad Dayd, Sr. at their first meeting and was married on November 16, 1957. She graduated from Metropolitan Technical Community College as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at St. Joseph's Center for Mental Health and later retired from the VA Hospital in 2008. VISITATION: Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 5-7 p.m., at Good Shepherd Funeral Home 4712 S. 82nd St, Omaha, Neb., 68127. SERVICE: Monday, December 28, 2020, 10 a.m., at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church 5318 S. 30th Street, Omaha, Neb., 68107. INTERMENT: Omaha National Cemetery 14250 Schram Road Omaha, Neb., 68158 at 1 p.m.
