Lois "Maxine" Hairston, 95, passed away on December 27, 2020 in Rogers. She was born on June 22, 1925, in Southwest City, Mo., to the late Jake and Rosa (Hubbard) Holliday. Maxine loved being around her family and working in her yard. In her earlier years, she taught Sunday School at her church. Her church family was very dear to her also. She was always willing and eager to help anyway she could. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Hairston; five brothers, Bill, J.D., Leroy, Don, and Henry Holliday; brother-in-law, Jerry Loper; and sisters-in-law, Connie, Patsy, Dixie, Gracie Holliday. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Cindy Hairston and Linda Morrow; 4 granddaughters, Christy Callaway (Chris), Stephanie Lester (Mike), Malisa Morrow (Robert), and Bridget Helmick; grandson, Jesse Sauerbry (Erin); eight great-grandchildren, Caylee, McKenzie, Maggie, Amanda, Heather, Josh, Reece, and Ashley; six great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Iva Loper and Sue Rhodes (Larry); brother, James Holliday; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Holliday and Shirley Holliday; and 23 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at 11 a.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery.
