John "Jack" Pearle

John "Jack" D. Pearle, 101, of Jacksonville, but most recently of Conway, passed away on December 28, 2020. Jack was born July 3, 1919 to Mary Emma Holt Pearle and Horace Berry Pearle in Cabot, Ark. When Jack retired from Timex, he took on the full-time job of farming. He loved to be outside with his feet in the dirt. Besides being an excellent farmer, Jack was known as one of the best coon hunters in the area. When not hunting or farming, Jack was listening and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks on the radio. Jack always had a story to tell and entered a room doing his train whistle for the children and adult's entertainment. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Pettey Pearle; infant son, James; sisters, Lola, Lucille Harris, and May Luker; brothers, Raymond, Fred, Troy, Owen, and Horace Berry Pearle Jr. He is survived by children, JoAnn (Angelo) Taverna of Tennessee, Larry Pearle of Vilonia, Jackie (Donnie) Pearle Jones of Cabot, Johnny (Patti) Pettey of Tennessee; grandchildren, James Scott Jones, Sara Mayfield, Pamela Spence, Phillip Spence, Angela Taverna, Destiny Raine Taverna and Tara Redman; brother in-law Joe (Vera) Pettey of Missouri; and sister-in-law, Ermyl Pearle of Beedeville. Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. A visitation will be a half hour prior, 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Jack will be laid to rest at Mt.Carmel Cemetery at a later date. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required. Memorial gifts may be made to Second Baptist Church, 1117 N.
