Donnie Mack Plumlee, 85, died unexpectedly on June 8, 2020 at his home in Greenbrier, Ark. He was born on December 24, 1934 in Oregon County, Missouri, the son of Othel and Martha (Duncan) Plumlee. Don served in the army as specialist 2nd class after graduating from high school. He obtained his journeyman license in HVAC, commercial refrigeration, plumbing and electrical. Don married Jane Margarette Highfill on July 28,1954. They owned and successfully ran their own HVAC/commercial refrigeration company after Don received his retirement from Missouri Pacific Railroad. Don enjoyed spending time working in his shop, fishing, hunting and growing his garden. He had an amazing ability to repair anything. Don participated in building and maintaining Camp Tetelestai and enjoyed getting prepared for youth camps. He loved sharing his childhood memories with his family. Don lived an active happy life surrounded by family and friends. He especially loved his dog, Angel, who never left his side. In addition to his parents, Othel and Martha, Don was predeceased in death by his wife, Jane Plumlee; his brother, Wayne and sister, Nellie. Don is survived by his daughters, Donna Camp (Jim Camp) and Janie Grantham (Danny Grantham); his grandchildren, Michelle Sowell, Jennifer Willis, April Reed, and Aaron Davis; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Don will be held Saturday July 11, 2020, 11 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Conway Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Ark. with a gathering of friends after the service. A private burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Camp Tetelestai, a family founded non-profit Christian youth camp in which Don actively participated and supported.
