Michael Lee Stobaugh

Michael "Mike" Lee Stobaugh, 67, of Morrilton, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020. He was born on April 25, 1953 in Lawton Oklahoma, the son of the Bill D. Stobaugh (deceased) and Dorothy Jane Richardson Stobaugh. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Stobaugh, of Morrilton; sister Christie Stobaugh, of San Antonio, Texas; brothers Richie Stobaugh, of Lowell, Arkansas, Jeff Stobaugh of Morrilton, and David and wife Shawn Stobaugh of Van Buren, Arkansas; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Mike was a successful coach and school administrator, and assisted with managing the family business, The 7up Bottling Company. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, and master's degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He took great pride in instructing his students in the classroom as well as preparing them to be successful in their lives after graduation. His career spanned at schools in Arkansas and Texas. He was an innovator as a coach. He often turned around the programs at the schools within a few years. He was so proud when visiting with his students and hearing of their successes and the impact that he had on their lives. During his retirement, Mike enjoyed fishing and supporting the Razorbacks. His memorial service will be on Friday, July 17, at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Due to the COVID virus risks, the private ceremony will be limited to family and several close friends. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Keith Stobaugh, Jeremy Stobaugh, Fletcher Stobaugh, Zach Stobaugh, George Pfeifer, and Jim Cobb.
